Individual Sessions

One-on-One Therapy for Adults Seeking Healing, Clarity, and Growth

At McAdams Counseling and Consulting, we offer trauma-informed, holistic therapy for adults navigating the complexities of life, loss, and transformation. Whether you’re experiencing a specific crisis or a more subtle longing for change, our individual sessions provide a safe, compassionate space to reconnect with yourself and begin the process of healing.

Therapy That Honors the Whole You

We understand that healing is not just about symptom relief—it’s about reclaiming your voice, your body, your story, and your sense of direction. Our work is grounded in evidence-based practices and also draws from integrative modalities such as somatic therapy, attachment work, mindfulness, nature-based ritual, and the neurobiology of trauma.

You’ll be met with presence, respect, and care as we walk beside you through whatever you’re carrying.

We work with adults experiencing:

  • Trauma and PTSD (including childhood developmental trauma, sexual trauma, medical trauma, and complex trauma)

  • Anxiety (generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, phobias)

  • Depression (low mood, hopelessness, lack of motivation, emotional numbness)

  • Grief and Loss (including death of a loved one, miscarriage, life transitions)

  • Life Transitions (career changes, relocation, aging, spiritual awakenings, pregnancy, postpartum)

  • Relationship Difficulties (patterns of conflict, codependency, betrayal, attachment wounds)

  • Emotional Regulation Challenges (overwhelm, dissociation, emotional reactivity)

  • Highly Sensitive Nervous Systems (HSPs, empaths, intuitive individuals navigating a loud world)

  • Chronic Stress or Burnout (especially in caregivers, parents, and helping professionals)

  • Identity Exploration (including after divorce, coming out, or spiritual shifts)

  • Low Self-Esteem or Shame

  • Creative or Spiritual Blocks

  • Anger and Resentment

  • Loneliness and Disconnection

  • Intrusive Thoughts or Hypervigilance

  • Personal Growth and Self-Discovery

How We Work

We start by getting to know you—your history, your goals, your strengths, and the places that feel stuck. From there, we collaborate to create a therapy experience that feels attuned and meaningful.

You might find our sessions incorporate:

  • Somatic techniques to reconnect with the body and release stored trauma

  • Attachment repair to help rebuild trust in yourself and others

  • Narrative work to help make meaning of your story and reclaim your voice

  • Mindfulness practices to regulate the nervous system and build inner safety

  • Sound Therapy to elicit altered states, relaxation, and co-regulation

  • Ritual, imagery, and creative expression for deeper emotional processing

  • Nature-based insights to remember your place in the larger web of life

  • Supportive health modalities like cold water exposure and fasting guidance for mental health

We also offer ketamine-assisted therapy when appropriate. Click below to learn more
