Your Investment in Healing
At McAdams Therapy, we are a private-pay practice, which means we do not accept insurance directly. This model allows us to provide the highest quality care, unrestricted by insurance limitations. It also allows us to provide unique, cutting-edge services that require advanced training, deep clinical knowledge, and ongoing education.
Our team is grounded in the values of being Modern, Holistic, and Integrative, and we are committed to working efficiently and effectively. Because of this, many of our clients find they reach their goals in significantly less time than with traditional therapy—often in one-half the number of sessions.
We’re happy to provide Superbills (medical receipts) for you to submit to your out-of-network insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
A Note About Insurance:
Submitting claims to insurance typically requires a mental health diagnosis, which becomes part of your permanent medical record. Some clients prefer to avoid this. Depending on your insurance plan, you may be able to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) without submitting a diagnosis. Upon request, we can provide a superbill that omits diagnostic codes.
We accept credit/debit cards, personal checks, and HSA cards. For ease of billing, we ask that all clients keep a credit card securely on file.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Each person’s journey is unique. The frequency and number of sessions depends on your history, symptoms, goals, and how you respond to treatment. Your initial intake session is designed to help us understand your needs and recommend the best therapeutic plan. We generally recommend a minimum of 20 sessions for meaningful and lasting results as most of our modalities include the neurobiology of attachment (which means a real trusting relationship with your counselor is integral to the work). For Ketamine assisted therapy we require two preparation sessions and an integration session for each dosing session.
Investing in Your Healing
We understand that the cost of therapy can feel overwhelming, but consider the long-term value. The conventional healthcare system often focuses on symptom management, with brief visits, impersonal diagnosis and an over-reliance on medications. Our approach is different. We aim to help you address the root causes, build true resilience, and step off the cycle of quick fixes.
By investing in a holistic, integrative approach now, you're giving yourself the opportunity to heal deeply—and potentially save time, money, and energy in the long run.
